The Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida is committed to serving the Central Florida area and operates various programs and initiatives that benefit the community. The following are examples of just some of the programs sponsored by the HBACF:
HBACF Scholarship Fund
The HBACF Scholarship Fund, in conjunction with the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando, provides scholarships to local Hispanic law students who have demonstrated significant campus and community involvement and academic achievement.
The HBACF scholarship is made possible through the generous donations of HBACF members and friends, as well as HBACF fundraising efforts, including its annual Scholarship Night. The scholarship is presented every year at the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund’s Gowns and Guayaberas Gala.
In 2009, the HBACF awarded a $5,000.00 scholarship to a Barry University law student and in 2010, a $5,000.00 scholarship was provided to a FAMU law student.

School Supply Drive
Each year, the HBACF organizes a school supply drive to benefit the students of a local elementary school. The goal of the annual school supply drive is to provide at least 100 students with all of the supplies they need to have a successful school year. To reach this goal, the HBACF collects school supplies from its members at its various events, while also designating locations for individuals to drop off supplies. In 2010, the supplies collected during the HBACF school supply drive were provided to Englewood Elementary School.
Seniors First Guardianship Project
In 2009, the HBACF established its Guardianship Project to benefit Seniors First, Inc., a non-profit social service organization dedicated to the needs of Central Florida senior citizens. Seniors First provides a broad spectrum of services for senior citizens, including legal guardianship for persons deemed incapacitated to continue making their own decisions. The individuals appointed to Seniors First are generally indigent and are, therefore, unable to purchase personal items necessary for their care, including clothing, glasses, dentures, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, washcloths, razors, and other personal care items. The objective of HBACF’s Guardianship Project is to provide resources to Seniors First to allow them to address the many personal needs of the seniors in its guardianship program.
